STRAIGHT ANSWERS. NO DRAINAGE JARGON.

Questions answered.
Problems made clearer.

From an urgent blockage to a homebuyer survey or larger excavation, here are the answers customers usually need before booking.

01

Callouts & blocked drains

Do you attend urgent drainage problems?

Yes. Call us if sewage is backing up, toilets will not drain, a chamber is overflowing or the problem is causing an immediate risk. Calling is the quickest way to explain what is happening and confirm availability.

What should I do while waiting for an engineer?

Stop using water where possible, keep children and pets away from contaminated areas, and do not remove chamber covers unless it is safe to do so. Avoid chemical drain cleaners because they can create an additional hazard.

Can you help with recurring blockages?

Yes. A recurring blockage often needs more than another clearance. We can clear the line and recommend CCTV inspection where appropriate to identify roots, displaced joints, damage or a recurring restriction.

02

Surveys & diagnosis

What does a CCTV drain survey include?

We inspect suitable accessible drainage runs, record visible conditions and explain any defects found. The scope depends on access and the condition of the system.

Why arrange a homebuyer drain survey?

Underground drainage is not normally visible during a standard property viewing. A specialist survey can provide useful evidence about accessible pipework before you commit to the purchase.

Will I receive photographs and a drainage plan?

Where included in the agreed survey scope, your report can contain property photography, a drainage layout, section records, CCTV evidence and clear engineer observations.

Can you locate and map buried drainage?

Yes. We offer drain tracing and mapping to help establish routes, connections and access points where conditions allow.

03

Repairs & larger works

Can a damaged drain be repaired without digging?

Some localised defects can be repaired using patch lining after inspection and suitable preparation. Not every defect is suitable, so we assess the pipe before recommending a repair method.

When is excavation necessary?

Excavation may be needed for collapsed sections, major displacement, failed connections, chambers or defects that cannot be repaired reliably from inside the pipe.

Do you install or repair soakaways and septic systems?

Yes. We undertake soakaway, septic tank and treatment-plant related drainage work, including investigation, excavation and associated pipework.

Do you work with landlords, agents and commercial sites?

Yes. Prime supports homeowners, landlords, estate and letting agents, property managers, builders and commercial customers.
