A drainage field must suit the discharge and site.
A field receives treated effluent from an appropriate off-mains system. Its suitability depends on soil infiltration, the property demand, location and available area. A tank replacement alone cannot resolve a field that is unsuitable or failing.

Before work is agreed
In England, off-mains sewage must have a suitable treatment and discharge arrangement. Check the applicable general binding rules and whether a permit, planning or building approval is needed. A septic tank cannot discharge directly to a watercourse.

Do you offer percolation testing?
Yes. Contact us with the property location and proposed project. We agree the testing and documentation scope before the visit; ground conditions determine what the results support.
Can you repair a failed field?
We can investigate. The sensible option may be a connection repair, replacement or a different drainage arrangement; it depends on the cause and site suitability.
Is a drainage field the same as a rainwater soakaway?
No. They receive different flows and require different assessments. Tell us whether the drainage serves rainwater or an off-mains sewage system.
